Services

Michael offers a wide variety of services based on the individual needs of each family he works with. Each relationship with a family begins with a consultation, during which he decides the best methods of teaching the student. Michael asks many questions to determine the needs of the family, such as:

  • How many tutoring sessions are necessary to prepare the student for his or her big day?
  • What type of service should be performed?
  • Will a Reform or more traditional service meet the needs of the family?

These and other questions will be happily answered, and decisions tailor-made, to fit the needs of the Bar or Bat Mitzvah family.

Tutoring - Michael personally tutors each student either in person or via video chat and provides them with all necessary materials. Video chat tutoring allows the student to interact with Michael from home on their computer. This helps when the family lives far from Michael or when they cannot make a specific meeting, insuring lessons continue without interruption.

The Speech - Michael works with the Bar or Bat Mitzvah student on their Parsha.  This includes teaching the student about the Parsha, and having the student personally research its meaning and implications in today’s society and how it affects him or her.

Officiating - If you wish, Michael will officiate at your child’s Bar or Bat Mitzvah service, with a Cantor if necessary. He will also bring anything requested by the family in order to meet traditions and help the day run as smoothly as possible.
