Readings and Observance
At the age of 13, boys and girls are accountable for their actions and become a Bar/Bat Mitzvah.
In the Jewish faith, religious observances are a way of turning beliefs into actions.
The Jewish ethnicity, nationality, and religion are strongly interrelated, as Judaism.
Welcome
M
ichael Marcus has a great deal of both personal and professional experience that makes him eminently qualified to work with Jewish children, specifically in preparation for their Bar or Bat Mitzvah. For more than 25 years, Michael has been the Director of Youth at Temple Emanuel of Great Neck in New York, giving him over two decades of experience working with Jewish children.
Michael offers a wide variety of services based on the individual needs of each family he works with. Each relationship with a family begins with a consultation, during which he decides the best methods of teaching the student. Michael asks many questions to determine the needs of the family, such as:
- How many tutoring sessions are necessary to prepare the student for his or her big day?
- What type of service should be performed?
- Will a Reform or more traditional service meet the needs of the family?
Michael personally tutors each student either in person or via video chat and provides them with all necessary materials. Video chat tutoring allows the student to interact with Michael from home on their computer. This helps when the family lives far from Michael or when they cannot make a specific meeting, insuring lessons continue without interruption.
These and other questions will be happily answered, and decisions tailor-made, to fit the needs of the Bar or Bat Mitzvah family.
